Week 4

Grant’s email to me (mom). Again he is answering my questions. Such a good son. One of which was “had he received letters from dearelder.com” and also “tell me what being made zone leader means”, since he told his dad a week ago he was made zone leader but he didn’t tell me. At least his dad and I share so we know what each other knows.

(Oh and if you miss it he says in todays email that after today don’t send any more snail mail letters to him in Mexico. Since we have discovered they take so long he probably won’t get them before he goes.)

“Hi and Happy Thanksgiving!!! yesterday I recieved quite a lot of Dearelder.com letters two from you, one from tayler and Dad, and another from Uncle Danny, Thankyou all so much, but i think dear elder is taking longer to get here than regular mail, since your letters, or at least the one from dad is dated november 10th…

Oh also I got a letter from Erlyn Lyzaro today and Grandma Hagen with my set-apart blessing, it was heartwarming and a good experience to read those.
Well since last I wrote life has been pretty good, and yes two weeks ago i was called a Zone Leader over zone 16, which as of yesterday only has two districts of about 8 people each left in it. Being Zone Leader doesnt change much, it means fellowshipping everyone, and having interview with district leaders as well as sunday meetings with the branch presidency. The e-mail list you mentioned, really is who you said and grandma hagen as well, Erlyn is the only friend besides Jed I have heard from since leaving on my mission. When did Aunt Heather send another treat package is it the one with the rootbeer in it and the wonka candy? also Aunt Jen sent me a peanutbutter type package that is delicious, but I dont know what to do with the jar of peanut butter, maybe i will dip bueno bars in it. life is still good, Sunday i ruined one of my white long sleeve shirts, i left the cap off of my pen when i put it in my pockets and it inked all  the way down to about my bellybutton, only stained the shirt though, not my garmets suprisingly. I have five boxes of food in my closet, most of which we will eat tomorrow for thanksgiving as a district. One of the other elders in my district, Elder Dow recieved a box of cinnamon rolls we plan to eat tomorrow and a bottle of Martinelli Apple cider. I have tons of food to eat, I am more worried of gaining 30 pounds even before going to the mission Field! Also, my companion and I still get along quite well, he has a lot more energy than I seem to on a regular basis, maybe from wanting, and we have twice, to run at 5:45 in the morning…. It is always wonderful to hear from you and how everyone is, also, I will be on for another 37 minutes so… Have my letters been making it home? which have you recieved? should I put more than 1 american stamp on them?
Also could you take a screenshot of the blog? i would like to see what it looks like, and I will ask to post to not send any more letters to the CCM after today, they will arrive about the time i leave and I may not have the opportunity to check the mail. Love you much, love all of you, you support me so much, oh and tomorrow, I forgot to mention, my district are the ushers for any devotional we have, meaning we man the lights, and seat people so it isnt everyone sitting in the back, but tomorrow, is a Thanksgiving devotional and a General Authority is coming here to speak! I dont know who or if it is a member of the 12 but I am excited.

Sincerely, with love
Elder Grant Hagen

  1. I sent Elder Hagen a letter through the “dear Elder” system, but it seems he has not received it yet. Maybe it went to the mission home in Texas.. Hmm

  2. Yes, I sent a rather long letter along with the package thinking the letter would be printed off and sent along. I guess not though. He mentioned getting the cookies but no letter!
